Does Play Matters have an immunisation policy?

Information on immunisation to support your play experience

Play Matters recognises the right of member families to choose whether or not to have their children immunised and does not exclude families on the basis of their immunisation status.

Play Matters does not mandate vaccination for its volunteers, or members; however, our company must comply with all health directions and contractual requirements related to our business.

We strongly encourage everyone to follow Chief Health Officer advice in getting vaccinated to protect ourselves and the communities we serve.

Important things to know:

  • You cannot ask a parent or carer about a child’s immunisation status except when a playgroup is held at a childcare centre, crèche, kindergarten or similar and where the provision of the National Quality Framework is applicable.
  • If conversations about immunisations cause a conflict or dispute at your group please contact the Play Matter’s team on 1800 007 529 who can support your group to achieve a positive outcome. Alternatively, further resources to support conflict resolution can be found within the Knowledge Base here
