Can Play Matters assist with resolving conflict?

What Play Matters can do to support play experience conflict and disputes

Why does conflict occur at play experiences?
Play experiences are made up of people! No matter how well a group is run,
or how hard everyone works at making it a success, there will inevitably be
conflict at times.

In the first instance, all conflict should try to be resolved by the group. If this has not been successful, there may be ways that Play Matters can help, including:

  • Provide the Conflict and Dispute Handling Policy which outlines more ideas to
help you try-again in resolving the conflict yourself.
  • Mediation – a Play Matters staff member can act as a neutral third party to help sort out the problem.
  • Impose a solution – if no resolution can be found, Play Matters will step in to prescribe a solution, which may include revoking membership/s to protect the goodwill and integrity of your group.
