What are the rules around allergies at play experiences? Should we have a nut-free policy?

Where a member or visitor, child or adult at the group has a food allergy, the group is encouraged to be understanding of their needs, and where possible, avoid having the allergy-causing food at your group.

Peanut allergies can be particularly severe and life-threatening, so parents of children with these allergies might feel uncomfortable attending a group where there is a risk these food items are present.

Other common food allergies include eggs, milk, soy, fish, and foods containing gluten (wheat, barley, rye, and contaminated oats).

As always, consideration should be given to all group members in establishing and maintaining a safe and comfortable play experience for all.
