Welcome to Northern Beaches Community Playgroup (Mackay)

A relaxed gathering for parents/carers/grandparents and their children aged 0-5 years to join us for a morning of connection and play. Our sessions rotate between Eimeo Esplanade, Bucasia Esplanade and Northern Beaches Community Hall in Bucasia. Please see our term schedule or social media for the specific location. We will have special guests come along as part of the session such as dance, yoga, movement, puppets, storytime and music. The playgroup at Eimeo and Bucasia will be based on nature play where children are able to follow their own interests to enjoy the playground, beach, rocks, nature and surrounding area under parental supervision. These sessions are at Eimeo and Bucasia are FREE and are run by a volunteer facilitator. Whilst we often meet until 11:15am, our official meet time on these weeks will end at 10:15am which allows our volunteer facilitator flexibility to leave early if they need to. Additional activities and play experiences as well as an activity provider will be happening on the Northern Beaches Community Hall weeks - these sessions are from 9:15 - 11:15am and we ask for a ~$5 donation. BYO morning tea, waterbottles, hats, sunscreen. Parents with young babies are also welcome to join us for a Mother’s Group experience as part of the playgroup. Come and go as you please and welcome to stay on longer beyond the conclusion of our official playgroup time. We kindly ask for a donation of ~ $5 to cover the costs of running playgroup and ensure our future sustainability. We aim to be an inclusive and accessible playgroup but also want to ensure that we are sustainable long term hence we ask for the ~ $5 donation when you can afford it (cash and card available). The is a community playgroup run by volunteers - we are always looking for help so please reach out if you'd like to be involved. We ask that all parents contribute at pack up time.
