Welcome to Northern Beaches Community Playgroup (Mackay)

A relaxed gathering for parents/carers/grandparents and their children aged 0-5 years to join us for a morning of connection and play. Our sessions rotate between Eimeo Esplanade, Bucasia Esplanade and Northern Beaches Community Hall in Bucasia. Please see our term schedule or social media for the specific location each week. In We will have special guests come along as part of our sessions, such as dance, yoga, movement, puppets, storytime and music. Our hall sessions include sensory/messy play, play trays, puzzles, books, gross motor activities and craft. The playgroup sessions at Eimeo and Bucasia will be based on nature play where children are able to follow their own interests to enjoy the playground, nature and surrounding area under parental supervision. BYO morning tea, waterbottles, hats, rid, sunscreen. Parents with young babies are also welcome to join us for a Mother’s Group experience as part of the playgroup. We kindly ask for a donation of $3 per session or $15 term donation to cover the costs of running playgroup and ensure our future sustainability. Under 12 months are free. This is a community playgroup run by volunteers - we expect that all families will contribute to set up, pack up and keeping the space safe and tidy during the session. We can't wait to meet you! Types of experience

Play Experience
A regular meeting of parents and carers with their children aged birth to 5, aimed at fostering the bonds essential for child development, parental confidence, community cohesion, and a smooth transition to school. There are volunteer-led, organisation-based, specialist, and facilitated playgroups supported by Play Matters.
Play Stars
Facilitated playgroup sessions with an explicit focus on babies aged from birth to 12 months old, proudly supported by the Queensland Government.
Additional Support
Targeted support for children who present with a range of developmental delays and disabilities, including children who are suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Events
A limited time offering delivered outside of normal activities or programs. This includes pop-ups, showcases and community events.
School-readiness
Programs that build children’s social and emotional skills as they transition to formal schooling.
Professional Development
A formal learning opportunity for professionals in the early childhood, education, and allied health sectors.
Parenting Support
Programs with a more targeted focus on parent/carer support including, but not limited to, peer support and capacity building.
Sing&Grow
Evidence-based music therapy intervention for children and families, delivered by Registered Music Therapists.
Intergenerational
Groups where the young and the young at heart come together to build relationships through play. These sessions take place in an aged care facility, or in a community setting, such as a grandparent's playgroup.
