Play Matters > Fuel Shortage

Play Matters Australia is committed to ensuring the safety of all participants and members who attend our programs and services.

Play Matters Australia is closely monitoring national discussions regarding potential fuel disruptions in some parts of the country.

Our Commitment to Service Continuity

Play Matters Australia is closely monitoring national discussions regarding potential fuel disruptions in some parts of the country.

The safety and wellbeing of children, families, communities, and our people is always our highest priority. To ensure we remain prepared and able to continue delivering services safely, we have a Fuel Disruption Response Plan in place. This plan provides a clear, nationally consistent approach to maintaining continuity of care and support if fuel availability begins to impact travel or service delivery.

Our Current Status

At present, Play Matters Australia is operating at early monitoring stage, with minimal impact to services. We are proactively reviewing the situation and planning ahead to ensure disruption is avoided wherever possible.

Please note: This webpage is regularly updated. Last Updated 30 March 2026.

What This Means for Families and Communities

  • Services continue to operate as usual

  • We are taking sensible steps to reduce non‑essential travel.

  • Flexible, remote, online or hybrid service options may be used if required.

  • Any changes to services will be communicated clearly and in advance

  • If fuel disruptions become more widespread or prolonged, our response plan allows us to adapt quickly while continuing to prioritise safety, connection and continuity of care

Staying Informed

Should changes be required in the future, updated information will be shared with affected families and partners and published on this website.

We understand that uncertainty can be concerning. Please be assured that we are actively monitoring the situation and are committed to continuing to support children, families and communities in safe, thoughtful and responsive ways.
