Welcome to Pacific Pines Primary Playgroup
For ages 0-5 years. Our playgroup fosters both the parents and child’s sense of belonging to our local community. It is a place where each child is valued as a unique individual, positive partnerships are formed, inclusivity is enhanced, and most importantly, a place where children can have fun and enhance all areas of their development. Our aim to develop these positive partnerships between school, parents, children and community is a crucial component in developing a child’s self-esteem and positive sense of self. If a child feels a sense of belonging they are more likely to want to explore, investigate and become confident. We endeavour to create a rapport with the children and families which is built on respect, a mutual trust, courtesy and open communication. Our playgroup places a strong emphasis on the development and use of oral language and we will endeavour to provide learning opportunities for parents regarding oral language. We are passionate about play based learning. Children learn best through having a hands on approach within their physical environment and through their interactions with others. We plan and facilitate experiences which provide opportunities for children to explore, investigate, discover and interact with their environment and others, to enhance physical, emotional, social, intellectual development and well-being with activities that are age appropriate and stimulating. The playgroup environment that we strive to create is one in which we believe children develop within all domains and begin to successfully transition into their school community and journey as lifelong learners.

experiences
Playgroup is for everyone. A regular meeting of families with their children aged 0-5, often with set up activities and invitations to play and families to connect. There are playgroups run by community (often volunteer-led), organisations (like schools) and specialist groups too, all supported by Play Matters.
School readiness involves developing key skills in the transition to formal schooling. Activities focus on empowering families to be involved in learning and building key physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and communication skills to support children entering school.
