Welcome to Better Beginnings Playgroup
Please bring along your teddy bear or stuffed animal on Wednesday 22nd for a teddy bears picnic! Our School Facilitated Playgroup is a warm and welcoming space where little learners grow through creative play, outdoor discovery and rich early literacy experiences. Designed for children from birth to school age, our sessions nurture curiosity, confidence and connection in a safe, engaging environment. Through hands-on activities, storytelling, music and exploration, children build strong foundations for learning while parents and caregivers form meaningful friendships and supportive networks. Together, we help children develop the skills, confidence and sense of belonging that lead to a 'better beginning' when they start school. Come along, connect, and watch your child thrive through the joy of play.

Playgroup is for everyone. A regular meeting of families with their children aged 0-5, often with set up activities and invitations to play and families to connect. There are playgroups run by community (often volunteer-led), organisations (like schools) and specialist groups too, all supported by Play Matters.
School readiness involves developing key skills in the transition to formal schooling. Activities focus on empowering families to be involved in learning and building key physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and communication skills to support children entering school.
