Welcome to Hatchlings- Manly West State School
Hatchlings Playgroup is a welcoming community playgroup held at Manly West State School for young children and their families who are preparing for their transition to school. Our playgroup provides children with the opportunity to develop confidence, independence and social skills in a safe and supportive school environment. Children can engage in play-based learning experiences, explore the school setting and begin developing connections with other children and families in the local community.

Playgroup is for everyone. A regular meeting of families with their children aged 0-5, often with set up activities and invitations to play and families to connect. There are playgroups run by community (often volunteer-led), organisations (like schools) and specialist groups too, all supported by Play Matters.
Specific playgroup for the early stages of parenting - baby playgroups (0 - 12 months of age) are for families to connect and share experiences, build friendships and community.
School readiness involves developing key skills in the transition to formal schooling. Activities focus on empowering families to be involved in learning and building key physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and communication skills to support children entering school.
