Welcome to Young At Heart Intergenerational Playgroup
Benevolent Living is a place where walkers and wheelchairs outnumber the prams. But our Intergenerational Playgroup – a playgroup where both the young and young-at-heart come out to play, is aiming to change all that. At around 10am every Monday, our community’s residents join with Play Matters families with young children aged from birth-to-five in a safe and engaging environment for an hour of fun and laughter. Each week we will focus on a different activity including arts and crafts, messy play, cooking, reading and much much more. All welcome to attend. Connect & Grow program runs 1st & 2nd term 2024 contact 1800 007 529 or email capricornconnectandplay@playmatters.org.au

Types of play
experiences
Playgroup is for everyone. A regular meeting of families with their children aged 0-5, often with set up activities and invitations to play and families to connect. There are playgroups run by community (often volunteer-led), organisations (like schools) and specialist groups too, all supported by Play Matters.
Specific playgroup for the early stages of parenting - baby playgroups (0 - 12 months of age) are for families to connect and share experiences, build friendships and community.
Groups where the young and the young at heart come together to build relationships through play. These sessions take place in an aged care facility, or in a community setting, such as a grandparent's playgroup.
