Welcome to Ilfracombe State School Playgroup
A fun and welcoming playgroup for children aged 0 to 5 years and their caregivers. Sessions include play-based learning experiences, crafts, and opportunities for families to connect with others in the community. The playgroup also supports children in developing the social, emotional, communication, and early learning skills needed for a successful transition into formal learning environments and school.

Types of play
experiences
Playgroup is for everyone. A regular meeting of families with their children aged 0-5, often with set up activities and invitations to play and families to connect. There are playgroups run by community (often volunteer-led), organisations (like schools) and specialist groups too, all supported by Play Matters.
Specific playgroup for the early stages of parenting - baby playgroups (0 - 12 months of age) are for families to connect and share experiences, build friendships and community.
School readiness involves developing key skills in the transition to formal schooling. Activities focus on empowering families to be involved in learning and building key physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and communication skills to support children entering school.
A supported, tailored program for children with developmental concern and/or disability. No diagnosis necessary. These groups offer weekly playgroups, group music therapy, and holiday groups. Delivered by a qualified Early Childhood Facilitator and Registered Music Therapists.
