Welcome to Somerset Hills State School
Welcome to Somerset Hills SS playgroup, a warm and friendly space for children aged 0–5 to learn, play, and grow together! We offer a mix of organised activities—such as crafts, music, and story time—alongside plenty of opportunities for free play, helping little ones explore at their own pace. Bring along a hat, snack and water bottle for the morning play session. Whether you're looking to connect with other families or give your child a fun, supportive start, we’d love to welcome you to our community.

Playgroup is for everyone. A regular meeting of families with their children aged 0-5, often with set up activities and invitations to play and families to connect. There are playgroups run by community (often volunteer-led), organisations (like schools) and specialist groups too, all supported by Play Matters.
School readiness involves developing key skills in the transition to formal schooling. Activities focus on empowering families to be involved in learning and building key physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and communication skills to support children entering school.
