Play Matters Australia announced today that Kirsty Dixon has resigned as Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Directors has accepted the resignation and will begin a search for a new CEO immediately. Kirsty is moving to Canberra to be closer to her family.

Play Matters Australia recognises and celebrates Kirsty’s leadership and dedication over the last three years.

Kirsty’s achievements include:

  • A new national brand for the company
  • 30% growth in services and reach
  • Strategic and operational enhancements across our regional delivery sites
  • Capacity building in key leadership roles across the company
  • Organisational cultural enhancement.

"On behalf of the entire board and staff, I want to thank Kirsty for her dedicated service to Play Matters Australia," said Gloria Sherlock, Chair of the Play Matters Australia Board.

"Under her leadership, the organisation has achieved remarkable growth and success, and we are grateful for her substantial contributions. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours."

The Board of Directors has begun the careful process of recruiting a new CEO. The search process is expected to take several months, with the Board working with a national agency to identify the best candidate for the role. In the interim, an Acting CEO will be announced in due course to ensure business continuity.

Play Matters Australia has a strong team of Executive Managers in place who will work closely alongside the Board of Directors and our partners to ensure the organisation continues to grow and evolve.
